Temporary Family Visitation Act
Families shouldn't have to miss weddings, birthdays, or graduations because they can't get a visa. The TFVA would create a new visa to make family visits to the U.S. easier and more accessible.
Our Democracy works for you
Remind your congresspeople that they work for you. Send a message to your senator or representative. No jargon. No confusion. Just your voice.
How it works
The Five Pillars
Clarity
While the legislative system is for the public, it is designed to come across as complex, stopping people from being involved. So we work to turn that complexity into clear language designed for ordinary people, not trained professionals.
Transparency
Too often, a civic campaign asks people to read, click, sign, and then lands them in a fundraising funnel. The introduction of financial motive can leave participation feeling like a performance to cover up financial motives, and puts a paywall on advocacy. We deliberately break that pattern, proving that our only motivation is civic engagement.
Accessibility
Apart from being fully free and accessible on the open web, we look to improve our accessibility by offering multiple language formats. Over 350 languages are spoken in the U.S, and around 23% of Americans don't speak English at home. Those Americans are just as entitled to participate in the government as an English speaker.
Action
Even after going through the headache of understanding the legislative system, actionable steps feel imaginary and distant. So we close this gap by providing pre-written letters of support for specific legislation and an avenue to advocate for it to your congressmembers. Turning a five-minute explanation into a direct act of participation, and creates an actionable ask for members of congress as well.
Awareness
Participation with Bill in 5 doesn't end with sending an email. We want you to have the freedom to consistently stay engaged while tailoring your time commitment to yourself. We aim to create a lasting habit of engagement and participation, past a single email.
